Primary Research is data that is gathered by yourself using the public's opinions by using questionnaires, interviews, focus groups so you know what people want and will instantly make you feel more in control of your project. A questionnaire is used to get opinions of the public relatively quicker than interviews. Questionnaires are more rigid than interviews. Unless you leave a space for the interviewee to write their own answer (e.g. 'If you have any more comments please write in the space provided'), the respondent can only choose from the range of answers you have given. You therefore have to make sure that you have designed your questionnaire well. The most common methods use to collect primary researches are: Questionnaires, interviews, surveys, observations and testing. The advantages of questionnaires is that you get responses from the public quickly and without any costs but the distadvantage is that some people might not take it serious and not answer the questions seriously.
