Summary Of Research

This example above is an example of many different types of research we are looking at. To start of with is, this is a primary research conducted by the NRS, when other companies and individuals look at this research, it becomes secondary research.
If one of the newspaper companies wanted to see their competition sales figures, they can use this information to do their market research.
It is also an example of audience research because they have broken the audience down to different classifications for example, they have classified age (15-44).
Finally, it is an example of quantative research because it is all numbers based and anyone who looks at the information would be able to analyse and study this information for their own purposes.
research is important because it provides you with lengthy knowledge and information about a particuar topic. it also sometimes gives you a better picture and makes you aware of more than one perspective towards a topic. For example, when you make a magazine, you research first if there is room for your magazine and what the other magazines dont cover in their magazine so you could put it in your own. You can also research what other magazine companies sell their product for so you know to keep the price not expensive so it sells better. Research is an never ending process in the media industry because there is always room for improvements in the media, technology is always developing and people's opinions always change.
